Angry moments, sad moments, grieving moments, lonely moments, despairing moments, defeated moments, pity-party moments…we all have them. It isn’t these moments that really define us, it is what we do in and with these moments that counts. You are not your defeat, you are not your loneliness, you are not your brokenness…you are defined by the strength that helps you get back up, the faith that makes you look heavenward, the hope that calls you forward. Sometimes in the midst of the ‘moment’, finding your way out can seem an impossible task…sometimes you need a little help.

Woman of God, you are fearfully and wonderfully made!  You are called for such a time as this and are being made in the likeness of your King with every passing day. Jesus is still King of Kings and Lord of Lords, everlasting and sovereign. He has good things in store for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. He crowns your year with favour and is the light to your path. He understands what you are going through and will exchange your heavy burden for His light one. All things are possible through Him.

Romans 5: 2-4 says We boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Daughters, there is rhyme and reason for every moment and season… there is a bigger story at play. Don’t be disheartened, don’t give up… look up! Continue reading

Literature, laughter & latte’s.

Our church recently had it’s inaugural women’s bookclub meeting. Inspired and implemented by my dear friend, the morning was a huge success. Great turn out, great location, yummy drinks, lots of laughter and chatter.
The whole concept was met with eager enthusiasm and has resulted in a sense of unity and peace among the women of our church.

So often as women we are competitive, judgmental and cautious about who we let into our circles. We tear down rather than build up and we are easily offended by a look, tone of voice or passing comment. I believe the opposite is meant to be our reality. There is something powerful and healing about women of all ages, walks of life and passions uniting to share life, speak truth, encourage and embrace one another. The bible says ‘as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another (Ps 27:16-18). ‘If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand (Mark 3:25).

Women, don’t be fearful, competitive, isolated or insecure. Instead you must know, that when united, we are powerful, world changing, life giving, wisdom bringing females! Add to that a relationship with our Heavenly Father and the strength and wisdom of Godly men and you have an unstoppable force of love, nurture and change.

Amazing what a little literature, laughter and latte can do 😉bookclub2
