Literature, laughter & latte’s.

Our church recently had it’s inaugural women’s bookclub meeting. Inspired and implemented by my dear friend, the morning was a huge success. Great turn out, great location, yummy drinks, lots of laughter and chatter.
The whole concept was met with eager enthusiasm and has resulted in a sense of unity and peace among the women of our church.

So often as women we are competitive, judgmental and cautious about who we let into our circles. We tear down rather than build up and we are easily offended by a look, tone of voice or passing comment. I believe the opposite is meant to be our reality. There is something powerful and healing about women of all ages, walks of life and passions uniting to share life, speak truth, encourage and embrace one another. The bible says ‘as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another (Ps 27:16-18). ‘If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand (Mark 3:25).

Women, don’t be fearful, competitive, isolated or insecure. Instead you must know, that when united, we are powerful, world changing, life giving, wisdom bringing females! Add to that a relationship with our Heavenly Father and the strength and wisdom of Godly men and you have an unstoppable force of love, nurture and change.

Amazing what a little literature, laughter and latte can do 😉bookclub2

  1. In Galatians 4: 28-31 – Paul is saying “You’re essentially like your sons of Hagar, born of human effort, when in reality you’re sons of promise born of Sarah”

Sisters, how are you living? Like slaves to your efforts, earning a place in the family of God because of what you have done well/not done well?
Or like a daughters of the King, heirs to all of the good things your Father has promised?
